1/7/10- CNN Money – “7 Million Jobs – Gone Forever?”
It’s been a while since I’ve shared an article and, although I’d like to start out this new decade with some good news. The truth is.. the future ain’t so bright. Economists actually expect unemployment to continue to rise based on population rates and some 6 million jobless folks who are no longer being counted in the unemployment #s.

9/15/09 – New York Times – “A World of Hurt”
President Obama is celebrating bringing back the economy from the “brink of collapse”. With financial sector stabilized and economists predicting that the Great Recession is nearing an end, our government is feeling really good about where we are currently sitting. I for one, am not feeling so great. It seems they’ve all forgotten about a key element of a successful economy… finding jobs for the 9.4 Million folks who are currently unemployed. I’d love to have something to celebrate… it would come in the form of a job offer!

8/11/09 – PC Magazine reviews the Top 20 Job Search Websites
These 20 Web sites take different approaches to find you the right job. Some sites, like Indeed, simply aggregate material from all other sites, while sites like TheLadders make you pay to take advantage of their high-paying job services. No matter how select or general you want your job search to be, one of these sites has you covered.

If you have been laid off and want to read an “uplifting” article by the Wall Street Journal check out the article below. In case you don’t have the time, I’ll give you the synopsis.
The author basically outlines all the reasons that “many employers are bypassing the jobless to target those still working, reasoning that these survivors are the top performers.” As an unemployed job seeker it really gives you the warm & fuzzies doesn’t it???
